History

SRBA was organized after the July 1877 Annual Session at the Antioch Baptist Church in Saluda, Virginia. It was comprised of the Antioch and Grafton Baptist Churches of Middlesex County, the First Baptist Church, Tappahannock in Essex County and the Bethlehem Baptist Church in King and Queen County. We currently have thirty-five churches that are united to serve the cause of Christ through education and mission. We offer special sessions to meet community needs.

Our Purpose

To promote the cause of Christ and the general welfare of member churches as they seek to influence their members, their community, and the world to follow biblical principles. To that end, the Association will focus on Christian Education to help the saved gain a greater knowledge of Jesus Christ and to lead the lost to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.To promote programs and provide assistance to churches to meet the holistic needs of people living in our communities. To that end, the association will focus on projects that will encourage social, political, economic, and educational excellence in addition to religious development through Christian Education.
