SRBA was organized July 1877 at Antioch Baptist church in Saluda, Virginia. It is comprised of churches in Essex King and Queen and Middlesex counties. We offer special sessions to meet community needs.

The organizations that we support financially are as follows:

  • Baptist General Convention of VA provides training and Christian education leadership.
  • The Baptist Center of Virginia, Inc. provides support for children before, during and after school. The Raikes Church School Ministry sponsors an annual fundraiser; King & Queen Contest is held on Palm Sunday.
  • Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention was adopted in 1919.It provides domestic and international support to people in need of human services. The Women’s Ministry has field agents from each church who present funds at the annual session in July.
  • Virginia Union University was adopted in 1955. It provides four-year university and post graduate degrees. It is a first-class pastoral and Christian education seminary. In November’s One-Day Session funds are collected then reported at VUU Founder’s Day in February.
  • Rappahannock Industrial Academy (RIA) provides planning for special facilities to support current and future SRBA needs.
